Sako 's Finnish engineers wanted to make the new Sako S20 a revolution in the field of big game rifles. Starting from an aerospace aluminum chassis, the Sako S20 allows the exchange of stocks, barrels, and a multitude of accessories, as well as the adjustment of the trigger, cheek pieces and butt pads to make each S20 a rifle tailored to the hunter.
The S20 Chassis is the heart and soul of the new Sako system, starting from a block of aerospace aluminum, the latest generation numerical control machines create this ultra-light and extremely resistant aluminum chassis that is the perfect bed for the rest of the components of the rifle. The V-chassis barrel mounting is part of what ensures its Sub-MOA accuracy.
The black anodized finish makes it invulnerable to the damage of time and protects it from scratches, etc.
The barrels of Sako rifles, especially the S20, are created from the highest quality steel bars and cold hammered with the CHF process. Cold hammering of the barrels guarantees the greatest precision, great durability and resistance since cold hammering changes the structure of the steel to make it much more resistant. Sako S20 rifle barrels have a lifetime Sub MOA grouping warranty.
At Sako they test each rifle by hand under the inspection of the most experienced eyes and test the accuracy of the barrels one by one.
The configuration of the stocks is very simple, starting from the base of the pistol stock or Thumbhole stock we can adjust both the height of the adjustable spine and the length and height of the buttplate so that the Sako S20 fully adjusts to our needs.
Both the Thumbhole hunting stock and the precision stock are adjustable in the height of the cheek piece and butt pad. The precision stock can attach a shooting monopod under the buttplate. The pistol grip of the Thumbhole hunting stock can be changed and has a rough finish that is very pleasant to the touch. The material of the S20 stock is totally new, it has exceptional grip and a touch very similar to leather. Siujection is optimal in any hunting situation, even in conditions of heavy rain, snow or extreme cold.
The action of the rifle is totally new, in the Receiver of the rifle itself the Picatinny rail is carved with state-of-the-art machines, making the mount extremely reliable, completely eliminating the possibility of the mount bases moving.
The Receiver is anchored to the aluminum chassis by a 3-point system that guarantees complete fixation and a perfect fit so as not to compromise precision.
The V-shaped bed makes the contact of the S20 chassis with the rifle action incredibly precise along its entire length, which ultimately translates into extraordinary accuracy by dissipating the vibrations transmitted during the shot.
The bolt is made of one piece of stainless steel and has 3 locking lugs with the barrel. It is a very smooth bolt design that runs through the action without drag and closes completely smoothly. The bolt ball is interchangeable.
The new two-stage trigger of the Sako S20 is adjustable both in length and distance from the finger and in weight. With an Allen wrench you can adjust the distance of the trigger up to 4mm forward or 3mm backward so that the finger is positioned correctly on the trigger. The weight of the trigger is also adjustable from 1 to 2 kg.
The body of the trigger is made of light and resistant aluminum and the finger rest is oversized so that the sensation when pulling the trigger is greater, facilitating precision in very long shots.
The safety is also improved so that once fired it is impossible.
