The trend to introduce weapons with short barrels is increasingly popular among hunters. This trend is accentuated by the increasing use of silencers, which is permitted in many areas. Rifles with silencers are too cumbersome, so short barrels are increasingly in demand. It is necessary to remember that the standard ammunition is designed for the usual barrels of 600 mm in length. Firing standard ammunition in short barrels has the following drawbacks: loss of velocity and energy, limited effectiveness, intense muzzle flash, strong detonation, and increased wear on silencers.
For this reason, RWS has developed a cartridge specially optimized for use in short barrels: the SHORT RIFLE cartridge. In practice, this means shooting with short barrels without sacrificing performance.

RWS has revolutionized the market with its SHORT RIFLE cartridge. The offensive combustion powder, the adapted weight of the projectile and the resistance of the percussion cap are responsible for its success in the hunting market. This cartridge specifically adapted for short barrels combines the following characteristics:
FLASH DECREASE
Offensive combustion powder significantly reduces flash and muzzle detonation of short barrels. Thus, visibility can be maintained immediately after shooting in twilight and night hunting.
MAXIMUM SPEED AND ENERGY
The specifically adapted loading allows the SHORT RIFLE cartridge to achieve maximum velocity and energy even with short barrels. In practice, this means no limitations when hunting compared to long barrels and maximum effectiveness even at long distances.
NICKEL PLATED PODS
Not only do they look elegant, but they are also very practical. The nickel-plated cases are highly corrosion resistant and feature a smooth chamber. Stuck cases, especially on semi-automatic rifles, are a thing of the past. SHORT RIFLE cartridges are designed for semi-automatic rifles (lead-free is also available).
SUITABLE FOR USE WITH MUFFLERS
Short barrels are often used in combination with silencers. Complete combustion of the offensive powder inside the barrel ensures significantly longer silencer life and improves accuracy. We have had particularly positive experiences with the moderator HAUSKEN .
INCREASED EFFECTIVE RANGE
Regarding the higher performance mentioned before, the V0 of the RWS SHORT RIFLE HIT is approx. 9% above average for barrels between 400 and 600 mm in length and produces an E0 that is approx. 12% above average for barrels between 400 and 600 mm in length.

RWS offers a wide range of continually improved solutions to ensure maximum power in short barrels and to accommodate the most important hunting applications and scenarios. The SHORT RIFLE series shot is now available in the five most important calibers and with the three most modern RWS bullets, two of them completely lead-free.
The aerodynamic shape of the RWS SPEED TIP PROFESSIONAL bullet ends at the front with the Speed Tip, which offers low air resistance and therefore a very direct trajectory. The new projectile tip guarantees precise shots and an immediate effect, even at long distances. At the rear, the projectile ends in a V-tail which, thanks to its shape, provides precision and flight stability.
The new RWS SPEED TIP PROFESSIONAL projectile, adjusted to the wide range of uses, has a double lead core structure that is based on the proven principle of H armor (H-Mantel): a slightly softer, reaction front core fast, and a harder rear core that guarantees percussive force. In addition, the nickel-plated steel armor provides high shape stability of the residual body and guarantees safe shooting with traces of blood.
Advantages of RWS SPEED TIP PROFESSIONAL ammunition:
• Flush ballistics . The very direct trajectory at very high speed allows hunting even at long distances. This is achieved thanks to the shape of the long-range projectile, with the Speed Tip and V-tail.
• Extreme stopping effect . Thanks to the Speed Tip, with an integrated hollow tip, and the easily fragmentable front core, a very fast response is achieved in the animal's body. The harder rear core guarantees percussive force. In hunting, this means significantly reduced flight distances and safe exit of the bullet with traces of blood.

Based on the metal ammunition purchase regulations, the maximum number of bullets per day allowed is 200 bullets (10 boxes).
The ammunition will be sent, once we receive the documentation and confirmation of payment, to the address that you indicate as the shipping address through an authorized agency, together with its circulation guide, which must be presented by the client in his intervention of corresponding weapons within a maximum period of 5 days.
The return of metal ammunition is not allowed.
