Semi-automatic carbine 64 G-SR

In a catalog as extensive as SAVAGE's, you could not miss the 22 lr caliber carbines. The SAVAGE 64 G-SR WITH 22 LR THREAD is a semi-automatic carbine in this popular cartridge. This carbine is in line with the center fire rifles of the Massachusetts company, it is accurate and reliable. Something that it achieves thanks to its good characteristics. The barrel has a length of 533 mm. (21") and is of the "sports" type made of carbon steel using the "button rifling" technique, in which SAVAGE is a true specialist. It is topped at its end by a thread with a 1/2×20 thread pitch and a thread cover.

The action visually has a stylized appearance, due to the fact that it is elongated and quite narrow, slightly thicker than the diameter of the barrel. This helps to keep the weight of the rifle to a minimum, this is only 2.27 Kg. Metal sights are installed on it.

On the right side of the action, the bolt handle is located, equipped at its end with a knurling to facilitate the operation. The locking system is by mass inertia, a common system in weapons that use this cartridge. To say that, after the last shot, the bolt does not remain open. To lock the action open, the latching handle must be retracted to a specific point along the action and then pushed into a notch to engage.

As for safety, on the right side of the action, located above the trigger, there is a slide safety with a large knurled knob for safe operation. Pushing it back engages the trigger lock safety and pushing it forward disables it so the rifle fires. There is a bright red dot that can be seen when the rifle is in a "fire" condition.

The magazine is metallic, single-row, with a capacity of 10 cartridges, which makes it protrude approximately 38 mm (1.5") from the bottom of the stock. It's easy to load and has a bright red plastic tile, which makes it easier to see through the ejection port if it's empty. Also, the magazine release button is located just in front of the magazine where it is housed and must be pushed up to release it.
