The color of this year's limited edition is inspired by the brilliant yellow of Zorngården, located in the heart of Mora, as well as our beautiful Dala Red color, which for decades has given character to Morakniv knives.
Zorngården was once the home of the artist Anders Zorn and his wife Emma Zorn in Mora. The building was designed by the artist himself and was completed at the beginning of the 20th century.
From the house of the artist Zorn to the well-known color red, the step is nothing more than a brushstroke on a palette.
The color that is so strongly associated with Mora, Dalarna and Sweden has had a special role in the history of the knife since 1912. Specifically, it was then that knives made in Mora received their handles painted with the characteristic red color.
"The two faithful servants" have ergonomic handles with a robust finger guard that optimizes safety and makes them sit well in the hand. The blades are different: the Basic 511 is made from high-quality carbon steel, while the Basic 546 is made from recycled Swedish stainless steel; "both are highly appreciated by professionals and hobby craftsmen ," says Martin Tomt, Product Manager at Morakniv.
Morakniv Basic 511 & 546 Limited Edition 2023 will only be manufactured in 2023.
