Mannlicher SBS (Safe Bolt System) bolt

The SBS lock developed and patented by STEYR MANNLICHER is the safest lock concept in the world. In the event of firing a cartridge with overpressure or if there is an obstruction in the barrel, the user is always protected from possible physical damage that could be caused by gas escape or mechanical breakage.

Hasp Feature:

1 - Waste grooves :
Special grooves made in the bolt body guarantee reliable locking even in extreme icy or muddy conditions.

2 - Percussion needle :
The rear part of the needle protrudes from the back of the bolt when the weapon is mounted, so there is visual and tactile control of the state of the weapon.

3 - Closing the bolt :
The SBS closure lugs by design are extremely strong and close directly behind the cartridge seat on the frame.

4 - Bolt handle :
The bolt handle can be folded and locked onto the receiver.

5 - Safety cap :
Only the SBS system uses an additional safety bushing that completely encapsulates the lugs and extractor. Consequently, the user is fully protected against any escape of gases with overpressured cartridges that can be fired without knowing it.




Insurance with triple system .
(A) insurance position. The rifle can be loaded and unloaded, however the trigger is locked
(B) fire position. At the moment before firing, the wheel is turned forward to the firing position, until marked with a red dot.
(C) Bolt locking position. It allows the bolt handle to be folded onto the frame and the firing pin is blocked. In triggers with hair, this is automatically deactivated in this position.
