Solid and timeless.

The N°09 is one of the first knives designed by Joseph Opinel in 1896. Like the rest of the Tradition range, its excellent design has managed to resist the passage of time. Its reliable and solid 9 cm stainless steel blade guarantees a high-quality cut and great resistance to corrosion. The beech used for the handle guarantees solidity and comfort. Useful for all types of use, it is the ideal companion for handymen.

Opinel , a French cutlery manufacturer, launches the Nº09 knife on the Spanish market , a really robust and medium-sized piece, which has a stainless steel blade 12C27 with 9 centimeters in size. It incorporates scales made of beech wood with a Viroblock blade lock .

This model developed in France is the third largest in its entire family, so it already achieves an acceptable job in all kinds of day-to-day jobs, as well as a complement in hunting or bushcraft activities . It also incorporates one of the most secure locks today.

Sandvik 12C27 steel

For the manufacture of the blade of this Opinel Nº9 Stainless , a type of anticorrosive steel has been used thanks to the addition of chromium, which does not require any special maintenance. In addition, it has a high carbon content of at least 0.40% to obtain an excellent edge as a result.

This material has a microstructure of fine carbides to improve its high performance in relation to wear resistance. Its specific composition is 0.40% carbon, 13.5% chromium, 0.40% silicon and 0.40% manganese. Its hardness will reach 55HRC .

Viroblock block

The Opinel Nº09 knife incorporates a security system patented by Marcel Opinel in 1955 , consisting of a security ring made of stainless steel , so it will be resistant to contact with ferrous elements and also to all types of hostile environments.

This technology is made up of a fixed part and a sliding part , and is capable of performing the locking action both when the knife is open and when it is closed . The user will be able to carry out all kinds of cuts without any risk, and will also be able to transport the part without the risk of accidental opening.

Clip Point Sheet Style

French developers at Opinel have developed a Bowie -style steel blade, which forms a very fine point, ideal for piercing objects or textures. In addition, this knife profile allows for increased control and strength on the part of the user.

The edge is straight, so the work surface is maximized and good results are obtained in large cuts, in a much cleaner way. The combination of the blade profile together with the characteristics of the edge make this small size knife a powerful weapon.

Beech Wood Scales

French designers frequently use this type of material to develop the ergonomic handles of their knives, such as the Inox Nº9 . The appearance of this natural wood has a homogeneous appearance and is recognizable by its presence with irregular grains .

The handle is varnished to be better protected against moisture and dirt. In addition, the structure is completely ergonomic, so it will respond effectively to the fatigue produced by constant use of the knife, as well as in extreme environmental conditions.
