GORE-TEX® footwear is breathable and durable waterproof. It has been designed by engineers to obtain optimal climatic comfort. The GORE-TEX® membrane is laminated to the inner lining, achieving a high-performance functional fabric. In addition, the seams of that inner lining are heat-sealed with a special Gore-Tex tape. The lining will offer us long-lasting waterproofing, maximum breathability and windproof protection. The secret of GORE-TEX® fabrics lies in its revolutionary dual-function membrane. The membrane is composed of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). It contains more than 9 billion micropores per 2.5 square centimeters. These pores are about 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times larger than a molecule of moisture vapor. Thus, while moisture vapor (a gas) can easily escape, its liquid form cannot penetrate the Gore-Tex membrane.

Seam sealing:
