The Njord Petri Puukko bases its design on the Viking era. It was a knife for daily use and essential for survival, hunting, fishing and even in the middle of the desert.
Blade made of layered damascus steel , hand forged. This is a type of steel made up of two types of metals that have been forged together. Afterwards, the characteristic drawing is marked with acid, revealing the layers that form the unique and sinuous veins .
In turn, current Damascene steel allows for good cutting edges . In this sense, Damascene steel is considered a precious metal due to the laboriousness of its production and is normally intended for collector's items.
The final aesthetic, whether it is brighter or darker, depends on the mix of steels. Its specific composition is 1.4% carbon and 2% vanadium and its typical hardness is 59-61 HRC .
The handle is made of rosewood and has a brass reinforcement, which apart from making it more resistant, is decorative, and is also finished with a protective layer of beeswax and linseed oil. The rounded shape makes it very easy to grip.
