The marquetry of the art cabinetmaker Bruno Chaperon transforms the classic N ° 08: the mix of four different woods playing on the contrasts makes it a unique object.
Equipped with an 8.5 cm stainless steel blade and a very resistant handle, it is practical and compact. Its Virobloc® system allows the user to move and work in complete safety. Wood species are changing depending on the creativity of the craftsman who created the knife. Therefore, each handle is different, varying patterns and contrasts, making it a truly unique knife.

Sandvik modified 12C27 stainless steel developed for Opinel is known for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, which allows obtaining a very satisfactory edge without being sensitive to corrosion. Blade hardness 57-58 HRC.
The blade has a polyglaze finish, the double polishing achieves a mirror effect.
The handle is manufactured in our workshops using the marquetry process developed by cabinetmaker Bruno Chaperon. The assembly of four different types of wood makes each neck unique: ebony, rosewood, violet, bocote, cocobolo, palisander, zebrali, boxwood, amaranth... exceptional woods, with contrasting shades, for an original representation. , unusual.
Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc circlip is installed on all No. 06 closing blades. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc is made up of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the sash in the open position (use safety), it is now possible to lock the sash in the closed position (transport safety).
