Hunting with short-barreled rifles or weapons with silencers ( where permitted by law ) is gaining more and more followers in Europe. The inclusion of this type of weapons provides more manageable, lighter rifles with advantages over long and heavy weapons that are being relegated to the background of action.
Due to this circumstance, the Swedish house Norma launched its new Silencer series in 2020, mounted with Oryx tips for all international markets, and given its success, it has just expanded it with the incorporation of the EcoStrike Silencer and TipStrike Silencer loads.
What has been the key to the success of this exclusive range of cartridges optimized for rifles with cut barrels or fitted with silencers?
Few people know that a shorter barrel (50 cm) reduces the effect of standard ammunition, which is optimized for barrel lengths of 61 cm. The difference in length makes it impossible for the charge to burn completely before the projectile exits the muzzle, drastically shortening the life of the silencer or a silencer and reducing the effect of the ammunition. That is, this effect of the shot decreases and it is possible that the projectile does not expand as expected when hitting its target at a lower speed.
Norma has made a special selection of powder for barrel lengths of around 50 cm. thus achieving performances equivalent to conventional ones, such as maintaining a similar initial speed. In addition, muzzle flash is minimized and the gas pressure at the muzzle is reduced, which also has a positive influence on the damping and pitching effect of a shorter, lighter weapon or on the noise of the silencer.
From now on, this line includes the popular TipStrike and EcoStrike tips, specially adapted with Silencer powders (EcoStrike Silencer and TipStrike Silencer).
The characteristics of both tips (EcoStrike Silencer and TipStrike Silencer) are identical to those of the standard ammunition, but with a charge and powder optimized for shorter barrels, around 50 cm. achieving the following properties:
- Increased speed: compensates for the loss of speed in shortened canyons
- The carefully optimized loading that allows the use of standard bullet weights: cartridges loaded with the highest possible energy.
- No ballistic effect is lost thanks to the use of a new gunpowder developed especially for these tasks.
- Lower outlet pressure: prevents pitching in short and light weapons and prolongs the life of the barrel and/or silencer.
- Reduced muzzle flash: less corrosive residue remains inside the silencer and does not heat it up.
If you usually use a barrel shorter than 61 cm. like those typically used in semi-automatic rifles, you will benefit from shooting the Norma Silencer series even without a silencer/suppressor. With an optimized load, greater velocity and more lethality are obtained than with standard ammunition for a longer barrel.

Based on the metal ammunition purchase regulations, the maximum number of bullets per day allowed is 200 bullets (10 boxes).
The ammunition will be sent, once we receive the documentation and confirmation of payment, to the address that you indicate as the shipping address through an authorized agency, together with its circulation guide, which must be presented by the client in his intervention of corresponding weapons within a maximum period of 5 days.
The return of metal ammunition is not allowed.
