SST® Tips

The Hornady SST tip is designed to deliver tremendous shock upon impact, expanding quickly and reliably, particularly at high speeds. With its flat trajectory and great precision, it is the ideal bullet for all types of animals. Perfect for shots behind the shoulder and other soft areas of the animal where it causes a deep and wide impact. The polymer tips increase the CB, making them more efficient. Upon impact the tip begins a controlled expansion. It is a fact that a fast bullet transmits more energy. Hornady secant warheads offer hunters the speed and ballistic efficiency they seek. It allows adequate crimping and helps with InterLock® controlled expansion. A thicker, harder jacket is necessary to retain weight and contributes to expanding the tip diameter twice.
