The stock and fore-end of the new 686 Silver Pigeon I HP are made of selected walnut with an oil finish, and are finely beveled to improve grip, even in the rain. The stock is available with a drop of 36.5/57.5 in a right and left-handed version. In addition, the trigger guard is available in a Schnabel or rounded version. The Microcore® butt plate guarantees a comfortable and precise hold and a secure and stable footing when shooting.
The case of the 686 Silver Pigeon I, derived from the legendary 680 series, presents a slim and elegant shape, characterized by the proven closure system with the iconic trapezoidal shoulders and double conical closure lugs. The engravings have been made with modern Beretta technology, specifically with a 5-axis laser, capable of engraving rounded surfaces while maintaining perfect continuity in the design.
The theme, created by Beretta's master engravers, takes the form of an elegant floral motif, embellished with images reflecting the region, such as leaves and grapes on the vine, and extends to the actuator, making it more visually appealing, as well as provide a perfect grip during use.
This weapon features a single, gold-colored selective trigger. The selector is located on top of the safety tab, allowing the user to select the barrel for the first shot with a simple and quick lateral movement.
The highly reliable and robust ejection system is the proven version used on the 680 platform. This has over a million shotguns in use for over 30 years.
The new 686 Silver Pigeon I HP also features Steelium Optima Bore HP barrels in triple-alloy Beretta steel in the 12 and 20 gauge hunting version. They are available in 26, 28 and 30 inch lengths, deep bore, forged with cold hammer and vacuum relief. The geometry of the Optima-Bore HP, with its double 80mm forcing cone, is designed to offer outstanding performance, even with steel shot. The pattern remains perfect and uniform regardless of cartridge type, thanks also to the use of 70mm long Optima Choke HP chokes. The 28 and .410 caliber versions are equipped with the traditional Beretta barrels with 50mm Mobil Chokes.
The 6x6 ventilated upper rib, with a precise anti-reflective weave and the traditional steel front rim, is a clear reference to the most exclusive Beretta shotguns. The sport version features a 10x8 rib and vented side ribs.
