The famous and reputable German frame manufacturer APEL-EAW, presented a new frame system grouped under the name BLUE-LINE in 2019. Its main characteristic is that they are cheaper than the traditional product of this German manufacturer. This does not mean that quality has been compromised. Since this new range of frames uses the same materials, the same manufacturing tools and the same quality controls.
The secret of all this lies in the design of the front foot and its simplified manufacturing process. In the traditional model, the foot and ring are a single piece, obtained from the complex machining of a block of steel. Subsequently, the foot and ring are cut, obtaining two pieces of absolutely perfect fit, but which are not interchangeable with others due to small differences. In the traditional system, the perfect fit of the pieces provides unusual rigidity and structural solidity.
On the contrary, in the case of the BLUE-LINE family, the foot and ring are two different pieces, which are more easily and quickly machined from two blocks of steel.
APEL-EAW, thanks to the precision of these mounts, guarantees the maintenance of the viewfinder zero, even after hundreds of shots. Also, to say that, the material used is the same steel. Also mention that there are small differences, with the traditional model, regarding the finish and polishing.
