Lock-N-Load® Tip Comparator

Measuring the length of the finished cartridge is not an accurate method when using different tips. In fact, it usually includes variations of up to 0.65 mm between one cartridge and another. Our tip comparator solves that problem by measuring the distance to the beginning of the tip ogive. At the same time, the tip comparator is used to measure the uniformity of the reloads between the base and the warhead. There is an adapter to use the gauge for this purpose. The tip comparator is attached to the caliber by means of a simple fixation and uses interchangeable bushings to measure the different ogives. There are 14 inserts available from 17 to 45 gauge. Used in conjunction with the LTC meter, the tip comparator is the most accurate when it comes to measuring the finished cartridge. The tip comparator perfectly aligns the LTC gauge to the gauge for accurate measurement. This method allows direct comparison of your loads, so that you can establish the flight of each one independently.
